Scanning domain hosted in cloud

Question asked by MJanowsky on Jan 19, 2012

Hello,

we try to scan a webserver hosted in a cloud. We will have to run an external pci scan.

We have got a static ip to scan from the service provider and the information that it is only possible to scan the full qualified domain name.

We have configured the scan with the standard pci option profile. We have also configured a new virtual host with the fqdn and ports 80/443.

When I take a look at the scan results it seems that the scanner has scanned something but not the configured domain.

As an additional info: We use the service of cloudcontrol.de based on amazon aws (elastic computing EC2 and elastic load balancing).

Has anyone practical experience?

Kind regards,

Markus
