No Host Alive with Firewall enabled

If I enable the firewall on my test server, a Qualys scan returns "No Host Alive."  My application (print server) requires no public facing IP so I turned on the firewall to 'fix' the Hidden RPC Services" error that results in a PCI scan status of FAIL.  What specific services must I turn on or allow through the firewall in order for a Qualys scan to 'find' the server?  O/S is linux, SLES10.

I have one final question.   Wouldn't a server for which a Qualys scan reported 'No Host Alive", by definition, be deemed to pass a PCI Compliance scan?

Thank you.
