Launching a Report Request on a Hostname and not an IP

I asked this recently but I think I didn't describe our situation adequately, so let me rephrase my question.

In our environment, the IP address assigned to a given host changes beyond our control, so we definitely need to have 'track by DNS name' configured in the Qualys system.  That way, we may have a scan of bills-machine.mydomain.com one day where the IP is 10.11.22.33 and then the next day the scan of bills-machine.mydomain.com sees an IP of 10.44.55.66.  The Qualys system is tracking by DNS Name and so sees that this is the same host, just different IPs on different days.

Now for my question.  We use the REST API v2 to get vulnerability reports.  The URL is /api/2.0/fo/report/?action=launch.  We want to launch a report request and pass the DNS name (bills-machine.mydomain.com in my example).  Is that possible?
