Apache threads stuck at 100% after scan

Hello,

I'm running Apache 2.4 on a S3 instance with a PHP web application.

I'm attempting to track down an issue where after a scheduled Qualys scan, two Apache threads are stuck at 100% CPU utilization until terminated.

The processes, as they appear in top:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
6367 www-data 20 0 535924 58040 34640 R 100.0 0.4 765:23.71 apache2
6371 www-data 20 0 527040 51336 35224 R 100.0 0.3 765:33.97 apache2

Before the processes freeze, these entries appear in the server's error log:

[ssl:error] [pid 6371] AH02042: rejecting client initiated renegotiation
[ssl:error] [pid 6367] AH02042: rejecting client initiated renegotiation

I haven't been able to turn up anything conclusive yet, and I'm not even sure which part of the test suite is causing these threads to stick. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
