Operating Systems Tags for Different Versions of Linux

How could we create tags using "Operating System Regular Expression" for different versions of Linux.

There are several thousands of servers, some using Cloud Agent and others being scanned directly, that are running different flavors and versions of Linux. For Policy Compliance scanning, we need to separate each OS version so they could be tagged in the appropriate policy.

For example:

This regular expression woks for tagging directly scanned servers, where the OS is listed as "Linux 2.6.32-696.28.1.el6.x86_64"

Regular Expression:  ^*linux.*el6.*$

Other servers with Cloud Agent have their OS listed as "Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.9" and none of the samples below allow tagging only the version RHEL 6.x, and not the other versions.

^*linux .*(Red\sHat\sEnterprise\sLinux\sServer\s7)*$

^*.(Red\sHat\sEnterprise\sLinux\sServer\s7.)*$

^*linux .*(Server\s6.)*$

The ideal is a tag covering both "Linux 2.6.32-696.28.1.el6.x86_64" and "Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.9" OS.

Thank you
