"no host alive" result in web app scan (qualysguard pci)

We ran a web application scan in Qualysguard PCI overnight and it came back saying "no host alive".

Now, I know when I do a discovery scan on IP addresses this means exactly what it says on the tin, but this is a web site so would it really mean that it couldnt reach the site?

The settings we used were

web site address

port 443

start scan at /

Form Submission  GET & POST

Bandwidth                HIGH

All other options were default.

We had a few sites in the blacklist.

Any ideas would be very greatfully received, I am looking to understand if I did the set up incorrectly or whether it actually was the site down at that time?

Thanks, Donna
