Wildcards in IP range dynamic tag

Hi all,

From what I can gather we can only use wildcards when using the following types of rule engines:

  • Operating System Regular Expression
  • Asset Name contains
  • Software installed

Right now I want to dynamically assign environmental tags to assets i.e. prod, dev, uat, etc. As an example, in our DC's and remote offices our production assets would reside on the .40 VLAN. So a prod server in Doha would have 10.1.40.2 and a prod server in the US would have an IP of 10.2.40.6.

I've not used GroovyScript yet but wondering if it would enable me to use regex to tag a device that has an IP of *.*.40.*?

Alternatively, I could add each office range into the IP Address Ranges(s) engine but I would then need to update this as and when an office is added.

Thanks in advance,

James
