Host Not Alive

I did not see any posts on this topic recently so I thought things may have changed.

 

I have a general question about a vulnerability scanning result. We occasionally get scanning reports with our merchants that indicate that the IP address has “No Host alive”.

 

We were able to find some information on that and how enabling ICMP might help, but we get situations with small merchants not having any IT assistance with troubleshooting this situation.

 

Currently the scan result is a PASS so most merchants are not doing anything. Can anyone suggest the best way to assist merchants with this scanning situation going forward?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
