Purge Assets API Call results in "No Host Queued for Purging"

I am attempting to purge a specific asset using the API.  Here is my post:

hxxps://qualysguard.qg2.apps.qualys.com/api/2.0/fo/asset/host/?ips=10.49.1.1&action=purge

# Added xx into "https" to prevent linking

Anyway, when I execute the post, I receive a code 1921: No Hosts Queued for Purging.  I confirmed the host 10.49.1.1 is in my Host Assets list, I added it earlier using an API Get command.  I have not scanned this host however.  It is simply listed in the Host Assets.

I am not looking to purge assets from my subscription based on time or a lack of response in x days.  I want to target purge assets using a script.

Can someone please tell me why I would be receiving this response and if there is a better way to target purge an asset?

Thanks.

Steve.
