Whenever I try to install the plugin on my browser I keep getting a connection failure message. I have tried the about:config fix and that does not rectify the issue.
Can anyone help?
Sorry for the inconvenience caused. It will be easier for us to rectify your issue if you can give us below information.1. What is the exact FireFox browser version(like 49.0.1)?2. what changes you have done in about:config?
Below are the steps I took.
We dont need to disable 'xpinstall.signatures.required' anymore since we have signed add-on, So you should not face any issue. As you described you are successfully able to Run BrowserCheck and install the plug-in after clicking continue and allow installation which will restart the browser. You should not face connection failure message. If you are still facing any issue please check qualys extension under about:addons>Extension and remove extension if already present and try with fresh plugin installation also check weather you are getting any browsercheck entry under below path and delete it and try with fresh plugin installationPath> C:\Users\localUser\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ProfileName\extensions
Also please send screenshot so that we can assist better.
Thank you for your addition steps. I tried all of them but unfortunately I am still facing the same issue.
You mentioned about taking a screenshot but did not say what of? The error message? Its the standard one I normal see saying there is a connection failure. Its the same message the about:config fix was for.
As we are not able to reproduce your cause, Can you please make sure you have single Firefox profile under below path, If you are having multiple profiles, You can delete all. Also please uninstall your firefox and install latest firefox and try. This should rectify your issue.
Path for firefox profiles: C:\Users\localUser\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
