Can anyone provide me with the Qualys definition of trending? I have the default of 2 weeks set and on the report I see a plus sign followed by a numeric value followed by a blue arrow pointing in the upward direction.I am just not sure what the numeric value represents. For example, if I see the plus sign followed by a numeric value in the "Vulnerabilities Total" filed in the report, does this number indicate the difference between the total number of vulnerabilites for the current reporting period and the total number of vulnerabilities from the previous reporting period?
Harry,
Your interpretation appears to be correct. Here is the definition you are looking for:
Trend Analysis = Last 2 Detections
When using the default trend option "Last 2 Detections" the trend information is expressed as a positive or negative value, and a symbol identifying the trend direction.
The positive or negative value is calculated by subtracting the number of vulnerabilities detected in the 2nd most recent scan (n) from the number of vulnerabilities detected in the most recent scan (n + 1).
This formula is adjusted accordingly for other trend periods (i.e., daily, weekly, and monthly)
Cheers,
