I read the first implementation of "Agentless Tracking" feature was implemented last December. When will QualysGuard will be able to use this unique host ID for automatic host tracking?
Right now there is no definitive time line for a release.
There are several projects going on right now that all need to be completed before we can build this functionality internally to QualysGuard.
I don't follow. I thought the automation is that once that's enabled, Qualys will automatically track them through the unique host ID across scans and changes (ie. IP change, dns name change). Is there other automation functionality?
So what can it do and not do currently?
The first phase was to build a funtion to create the unquie watermarks and then deploy them.
Later phase will give clients the ability to use these watermarks inside of the application for reporting and correlation. That will come later this year.
If clients would like to use the watermark for tracking today, they would need to use and externally reporting engine.
Has this second phase been implemented Bill?
Not as of yet. The foundation is being built currently and we hope to expose more in late 2014.
Is there any update on the development/release schedule for this feature?
yes, were interested in this as well since we have some multi-IP/NIC devices which are counted twice (cluster DBs)
Update on this please? This option is greatly anticipated as it will reduce the number of reported vulnerabilities in our environment.
any update? would make it easy in our inventory system to correlate these
This feature is on the roadmap, but there is no date set and it has not been assigned to a specific release. Product management and engineering are aware of this thread, and I recommend you keep your TAM aware of your need as well, since TAMs can help influence development priorities.
Any update on the 'second phase'?
