Does anybody know For chkconfig programs in Linux - how can we check ONLY if a program is disabled for specific levels (for example can we check if CUPS is disabled for levels 2 3 4 5 on a host)?
I think you should be able to use theses commands or something similar.
chkconfig --list | grep 3:off
chkconfig --list | grep cups
You want this:
chkconfig --list <servicename>
[stmiller@centos ~]$ chkconfig --list cups
cups 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off
Thank for your answer. Can this be included as a control for PC module?
Check out CID 1260 Status of the Common Unix Printing System (cups) service
This can be used to audit which service cups is running on.
