I have been looking around for information on whether hypervisors are supported with Qualysguard e.g. the kernels that are running the VMs.
Will Qualysguard scan for vulnerabilities in Xenserver hypervisors?
Yes, there is quite a bit of hypervisor assessment currently provided with QualysGuard Vulnerability Management.
We have solid coverage for auditing VMware hypervisor hosts (ESXi, ESX). We also have ~70 different checks for vulnerabilities related to the Xen hypervisor components for CentOS Linux, Red Hat Linux, and Oracle Linux.
You specifically mention XenServer, the Citrix server virtualization implementation above. We do not have any explicit XenServer coverage in the platform today. Frankly, we have not heard much customer interest for this in the past.
I would love to hear more about your environment, the versions you are using, and your use cases, David, if you're open to sharing. You can comment on this thread, or contact me (Justin Lute) directly.
Likewise, if anybody else out there has a need for XenServer coverage, or for more or better coverage for any other hypervisor platforms, I'd love to hear from you, too.
Last comment posted by Justin is dated back to July 2012, was there any changes to Qualys Xen supoort? My organization is using Citrix Xen and I would like get an update or work with Justin or any Qualys associate on this matter.
