Dashboard Toolbox - Bug Notification and Status: Widgets Showing Sudden Spike - Trending Discrepancy in AssetView (AV) and Threat Protection (TP) Dashboards (Portal 2.39 release)
Qualys Support is currently tracking a bug introduced with the portal 2.39 release on various shared pods. The issue has been described as Widgets Showing Sudden Spike - Trending Discrepancy in Dashboards.
Qualys Engineering has created a patch for an issue within AssetView/Threat Protection widgets associated with the date of the Qualys Cloud Platform 2.39 deployment where trending data displays a spike in the graph. A regression introduced into the trending job which calculates and stores trend data for AssetView/Threat Protection widgets erroneously returned all hosts within a subscription for any widget where trending was enabled. This would potentially impact any widget since deployment date of the Qualys Cloud Platform 2.39 (referenced below) until the date of hotfix deployment tracked at Qualys, Inc. Status for each individual shared platform. As the correct trending data was not collected on these dates the widgets will not be altered in any way. The widgets will completely self correct over the course of 90 days, as this is the maximum length of trending data retention.
This impacted US Platform 1, US Platform 2, and EU Platform 1 based on initial deployment dates below:
